A high-handed state official heading one of the powerful agencies was recently forced to beg his juniors for cash to evade what could have been an embarrassing situation. The man had attended a fundraiser as the chief guest. To his shock, the juniors contributed huge cash, with one of them singlehandedly donating Sh2 million. The move shocked the man, who had reportedly planned to contribute Sh1 million. The event had to be temporarily halted as he made frantic calls to friends to lend him some cash. Finally, the juniors, whom he had been belittling since he rose to the high office, came to his rescue.
