A crucial government establishment has been rocked by a crisis after it emerged that millions of shillings may have been lost through illegal procurement processes involving the supply of food to its three-star hotel. At the centre of the controversy are two companies owned by two sisters, who are linked to a top official . The alleged irregularities involve inflating cost of goods by up to 100 per cent as well as supplying hot air but still managing to invoice management for payment through reported collusion with the senior official. After invoicing the agency for the fake supplies, our sources claimed, the two companies are paid promptly. So serious is the matter that top guns at the institution held a crisis meeting to address the situation that is getting out of hand.
