Yesterday we told you about a false start by a big shot who prematurely declared ambition for a top seat. We are told a key partner in his political outfit whose backing he is banking on is not happy. The partner told his trusted associates that the ambitious politician should have waited before going public with his declaration, and that he should have used uncertainty and strategic ambiguity as a weapon against his supposed opponents. With early declaration, he said, the man makes his enemies have enough time to define him and limit his chances of winning. Time will tell how it all plays out.

A lawmaker from Western is worried about his second term after his chief backers coined the monicker of "Mr Promises" in reference to him. They say the man has failed to live up to some of his campaign promises. The man pledged to fix the constituency's roads and water reservoirs and keep children in school through bursaries. However, the locals are growing impatient after none of the promises materialised. The lot comprising of insiders was overheard saying the man should have made significant progress being on his second budget since election.
