The management turned the heat on the customers, demanding payment. The officer had to apparently make frantic calls to friends who swiftly helped him raise the balance.

A renowned official of a political party whose fortunes have been dwindling in recent days could be facing troubles with the party bosses. The man reportedly recently bragged about how he was pocketing millions of shillings from the party and did not care about its performance in the elections. The party has performed dismally in the recent elections despite receiving millions from the government. The remarks, which he made at a pub in the city, have supposedly reached his bosses. Those in the know say the party honchos are angry and could soon summon him to explain himself.

The programme targets women from humble backgrounds but those enlisted as beneficiaries supposedly include employees of the county administration and other well-off women. A mole whispered to Corridors of Power that senior officials overseeing the project have purportedly enrolled relatives and friends who do not qualify to be recipients of the money from the county.
