Two first-term MPs nearly exchanged blows at Parliament Buildings recently. Reason? A statement made by a bashful lawmaker from one of the counties in the Rift Valley that his committee is not for "junior MPs" never sat well with his colleague. So tense was the situation outside the committee room that members were forced to intervene to avoid an ugly brawl. The offending MP reportedly brags how the committee he sits in is so powerful. Indeed, some members told off the lawmaker who is said to have a tendency of undermining other members yet he rarely makes meaningful contributions.
