Contractors with an agency in the infrastructure sector in Western Kenya have had enough of the agency’s regional manager whom they say is corrupt to the core. The contractors have written to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission asking it to investigate the manager for alleged illegal dealings. They accuse him of demanding huge kickbacks from contractors, which he allegedly shares with area politicians. The contractors further want the detectives to look at the official’s call logs and mobile money transactions to establish if their claims hold water.

Is a political party's top leadership planning to relocate offices from an upscale estate to a low-cost location? There are reports the party has accumulated millions in rent arrears. It is not clear why the party honchos fell out with the landlord but there are claims of state interference. The tycoon recently shifted his political allegiance to the ruling alliance.

An opposition governor has been out of reach for days as Azimio planned for Monday's mass action. Corridors of Powers has learnt that there is friction among opposition lawmakers after some accused the county boss of betrayal. Incidentally, there were no protests at all in the governor's own backyard despite him being a key Azimio figure. Word has it that efforts to make calls to the governor the whole of Sunday and Monday, including by a top Azimio honcho, failed to get hold of him. It is now alleged that the county boss could have feigned sickness to escape the protest call.
