Is a vocal lawmaker being edged out from a presidential candidate's circle nine months to the polls? Well, Corridors of Power has learnt that the outspoken politico, who had been in the running, is being tactically edged out from the candidates' political activities and his inner sanctum. Insiders claim this is related to his loose lips that have injured the prospects of the candidate over the years. The lawmaker has of late been missing from big events organised to drum up support for the presidential candidate.

A first-term MP from Nyanza is worried after his governor endorsed his rival in the August 9 general election. The legislator, known for his controversial actions and bragging of how monied he is compared to his opponents, was overheard lamenting how the move by the governor would affect him politically. He told a few friends at Parliament precincts on Wednesday that he was now planning to sell his newly acquired home in Nairobi for about Sh30 million and settle in a rental house so he can have money to face the opponent who now enjoys the governor's backing. However, one friend cautioned him against selling the prime property for political campaigns when he knows his constituency has a history of not re-electing MPs for nearly three decades.

Sponsors of one of the presidential hopefuls have reportedly threatened to withdraw their funding over the aspirant's latest abrasive style of politics. The monied men from his community are said to have convened an urgent meeting with him on Tuesday night and warned him against publicly attacking their peers who do not support his bid. They said his move could be counterproductive in his efforts to win support from a certain region. But the man is reported to have told the sponsors off, adding that at this point in time, he fears nobody and will not play cowardice politics. It is was at this point that some of the sponsors threatened to withdraw support, noting the abrasive politics would also hurt their businesses.
