A nominated lawmaker's affection for an aspirant to State House has alarmed her friends. Her buddies who visited her over the weekend were dumbfounded to see the Honourable Member having several photographs of the politician in her house. What shocked one of the guests was the woman's own admission that she has a huge portrait of the man in her bedroom. "I have every right to display the photos, he has changed my life. I will even add more pictures!" She reportedly told her visitors. Before she joined Parliament (pictured), the MP was in academia.

Attempts by a former governor now serving in an elevated position in government to make amends to previous friends were rebuffed on grounds of betrayal and his wimpy attitude. The leader who wants to reclaim his seat has been dispatching emissaries to patch up the tattered relations — in vain. It now appears a nondescript outfit will be his last resort as no established outfit is ready to take a risk with the wishy-washy politician. His close friends say the man does not hesitate to sacrifice anyone for a spoonful of of soup to save his scalp from the wrath of the powers that be.

Have illegal immigrants from a neighbouring country turned Kenya into a route for snuggling mirra (khat) to some western countries? Corridors of Power has he learnt the immigrants are in cahoots with officials from critical government departments to perpetuate the illegal business. Reports indicate they dry the miraa and disguise it as ether tea leaves or gifts by packaging it into a popular tea brand container, they flying it to western nations. Our mole says the packaging is done in Section One Eastleigh. Can the multi-agency security team crack the whip and bring to an end this illegal business to protect our local mirra farmers who are struggling to get market for their produce?

Is the licensing department of the city county aware two of its apparently drunken officers stormed an office in uptown Nairobi demanding fire and the regular licences? The two officials produced identification documents claiming they work for Nairobi City County. The first official said he wanted the fire licence displayed. An explanation that fire licences must be first be paid for fell on deaf ears. As the first officer cooled down, the other armed with what looked like an identification document demanded a licence, which he was promptly shown. Dejected and in a huff, the two left the premises. The officeholder complained city inspectors have been frequenting the premises, each demanding various licences. The officeholder now wants City Hall to streamline its processes to avoid confusion.
