A governor from the Coast has been linked with a political plan to join Deputy President William Ruto's (pictured) camp in the coming days. Despite fighting off claims that he has links to the country's second in command for some time now, it has emerged that the coming days could prove to be decisive for him. The county boss is said to be quietly holding secret meetings with some of Ruto's strategists before he finally makes a switch. There are indications that the county boss will cross over before the end of November as the season of political alignments and realignments gathers pace ahead of 2022.

Has a party leader from Nyanza auctioned his political party to a governor from the region? It has emerged that the politico could have shelved his 2022 political ambitions to run for governor. While the politician has shrugged off reports that the party no longer belongs to him, a move by a governor from the region to declare himself the de facto leader of the outfit has exposed him. There are reports the former MP could have also struck a political compromise with his county's deputy governor as a part of a political deal for him to step down. The ex-MP is no longer the leader of the outfit even as he portrays himself as a political supremo.

There has been great concern over the chairperson's supervision of a recent key decision that shook the country. Whether the transfer would be revealed as another reward for his loyalty must await to be seen until the move is executed. The chairperson is said to have serious connections in the establishment.

A city-based politician eyeing a gubernatorial seat is walking into a political crucible that will test her academic stamina. Questions are already being raised over her academic qualifications as the battle for the county's top manager job begins in earnest. While previous academic records have been questioned as well, this time round the Qualifications Authority of Kenya is being asked to certify her academic credentials. A petition has already been sent to the QAOK seeking to ascertain whether the politician holds a bachelor's degree as required in law for one to run for governor. Whether the politician can manage to jump the latest hurdle in her way will be interesting to watch as the race takes shape.
