A Cabinet Secretary seeking a gubernatorial seat in a county in Mt Kenya is considering dumping President Uhuru Kenyatta (pictured) early to plot his 2022 political ambitions. Reason? His continued stay in the Jubilee government might complicate his gubernatorial chances. There are reports that the hostility facing the ruling party in Mt Kenya region could mean the minister would plan to decamp to Deputy President William Ruto's hustler nation to bolster his chances. However, the CS is said to be playing his cards close to the chest to avoid being kicked out of the Cabinet prematurely. Some people close to him have said he has hinted at quitting as early as November.

A renowned communications and political commentator is positioning himself for the peak season of political commentary. His latest strategic positioning is the opening of a swanky office within Nairobi's Lavington estate. A governor in one of the counties in Nyanza has thrown caution out of the window and is holding one meeting after another in total disregard of the Covid-19 protocols. The county is one of the 13 devolved units put under lockdown but the county chief, worried that his rivals were fast gaining ground, has resolved not to leave anything to chance. A local told Corridors that the county boss is having sleepless nights and is meeting supporters and strategists day and night after a popular resident showed interest in the coveted seat. The governor is hardly in his office but in meetings all day long.
