Ardhi House, Nairobi

A senior officer at the National Land Commission (Ardhi House headquarters pictured) was ambushed by his wife as he was about to settle down for an afternoon meal with his side-dish at a popular club in Nairobi's Upper Hill. A scuffle ensued between the two women, hurling unprintable words at each other. To avoid embarrassment, the officer left the scene and drove back to Ardhi House, leaving the two squabbling. The dramatic shouting match went on with each woman threatening to “teach” the other a painful lesson.

A popular Mt Kenya politician might hang his political boots next year. Word on the street is that the politico has been advised by his doctors to relax and stay indoors. For long, the politician hasn’t been engaging in public activities as was the case before. A source hinted to Corridors that the MP’s health cannot allow him to take part in vigorous campaigns. After realising that opponents are taking advantage of the condition, the lawmaker has declared interest to vie for a top seat in the country. Insiders say the move is only aimed at sustaining his political career and keeping opponents at bay.

A hotel located near a county assembly in Nyanza is struggling to remain afloat after MCAs ate food on credit. The ward representatives have made it a habit of eating and promising to pay later. However, for months on end, the leaders are yet to fulfil their never-ending pledges. Workers at the hotel have gone for months without pay, with the Covid-19 pandemic now making things worse. Where the honourable members take their money, especially the loot they pocket from numerous trips and sitting allowances remains a puzzle. A member of the management whispered to Corridors that they are contemplating publishing a list of shame.

A lawmaker from the Eastern part of the country has gone on an overdrive following the apparent endorsement of his rival for a coveted county seat. Corridors is told that the man has panicked in the wake of signs that voters could be leaning towards a candidate favoured by a dominant party in the region. The developments have caused an aura of uncertainty in the lawmakers’ quarters, silencing the celebratory mood they had accustomed themselves to. The lawmaker’s team had been celebrating as if the good politician had won the coveted seat. It was not until recently that it may have dawned on the man that things would not be as easy as his team had assumed.
