HERMAN Kago Gakobo, popularly known as Professor Hamo, had to deal with self-esteem issues before becoming the sensation he is today.
The Churchill Show star is currently one of the most popular comedians in the country, but he tells Word Is that for a long time he was forced to deal with low self-esteem in order to “conquer” the world.
“For a very long time, I used to believe that I was never good enough in anything I did. In high school, I used to sweat like a pig every time I was called over to speak in front of other students. I have always been good in music but because of my esteem issues, it was hard for me to put myself out there. But change started the moment I subconsciously realised that it was all in the mind,” he says.
Hamo adds that he feels challenged to start an initiative to help other people deal with their self-appreciation.
“I started living when I asked myself 'Who am I' and I think people need to realise who they are. I want to inspire them to know who they are and by doing so, they will save us many problems. Some people say that I am humble but deep inside myself, I know that I am very proud!”
