Harambee Stars offensive midfielder Abdalla Hassan has refuted claims that the intends to desert Kenyan Premier League side Bandari.
His remarks follow unauthenticated reports on social media that linked him with a big move abroad.
"I am shocked that people can fabricate a story and peddle lies about me. I don't have any intentions of leaving Bandari and I've not held talks with any club to shift camp," Abdalla said.
"I've received calls from several journalists who wanted to verify the claims. I think the media is aware my contract has ended at Bandari and there is a high level of anticipation about my next move."
Bandari spokesman Twaha Mbarak said he was equally taken aback by the 'unfounded' reports.
"I held discussions with Abdalla on Thursday about a possible contract renewal and he didn't express any interest in leaving the club," Mbarak said.
"His contract has indeed expired and we are in talks with him to try and see if he can consider extending his stay at the club. He has been with us for a very long time and happens to be one of the mainstays of Bandari."
Mbarak noted that the club has improved remarkably in recent weeks and extolled coach John Baraza for guiding them to victory against traditional giants AFC Leopards in their last league encounter at Mbaraki Sports.
"I must say I am impressed by the team's performance, especially in our last game against Leopards. We are looking forward to another splendid display in our clash with Tusker at Kasarani Annex on Saturday," he stated.
Mbarak also dismissed reports that they are rummaging through the market for a new gaffer following the resignation of Twahir Muhiddin a fortnight ago.
The former Harambee Stars tactician parted ways with the club following a string of unimpressive outcomes, with his assistant, Baraza, taking over the reins.
"We are happy with what coach John Baraza has done this far. He has our full support. He needs time to mould a winning side and judging by his performance in the last two matches, I believe he can do some great things with the players," Mbarak noted.
