Azimio announces three key meeting points for Nairobi protesters

The Azimio la Umoja coalition has announced three places where their supporters will converge, for the protests beginning on Wednesday.

Speaking to the press, the outfit's leaders in a joint statement said, they will meet at the Joseph Kangethe grounds, Kamukunji grounds and Jacaranda Grounds.

They also called on Kenyans to turn up in large numbers and bang cooking pots and pans.

Narc Kenya's Martha Karua insisted that the "Sufuria movement" will officially start on Wednesday.

"In Nairobi, we will have three convergence points Joseph Kangethe grounds, Kamukunji grounds and Jacaranda Grounds," Karua said.

"Further, at midday tomorrow, we ask Kenyans to come out of their homes and bang sufurias, pots and pans."

The Opposition also called on motorists to park their vehicles wherever they will be, including on highways to support Azimio.

"We call on motorists to stop wherever they are on highways and roads, hoot and flashlights in support of this movement," they said.

During the press briefing, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka said that despite the state withdrawing their security, they will proceed with the protests as planned.

They had earlier announced a three-day protest starting on Wednesday, through to Friday.

Azimio la Umoja said that as of Tuesday morning, they had collected over six million signatures through their portal.

Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua urged Kenyans to continue signing up, to express dissatisfaction with the current government.
