A finance chief officer in a Western county is supposedly running the region’s treasury like a personal account. It is alleged that the officer has stifled cash flow to other departments. The CFO's seniors including CECs are now complaining about the "untouchable" official who is purportedly also a paramour of a first-term MP from the county. Senior staff have voiced concern after salaries were delayed for the first time since inception of devolution in the region. The officer does not listen to anyone and has reportedly marked their office out of bounds for all accountants. Staff are forced to spend their own cash on county duties as their per diem claims aren’t approved.
