There has been a noticeable calm along major streets in Kisumu on Thursday morning.
By 10 am, the streets were void of people while most shops remained closed in the morning hours.
Azimio Chief Raila Odinga had declared that there would be bi-weekly protests in the country to demonstrate the high cost of living.
Raila had said protestors would meet on the streets every Monday and Thursday to hold peaceful demos over the high cost of living.
On Wednesday, Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong'o moved to ban the demos in his county.
Later on in the day, Nyong'o lifted the ban.
Despite this, no protestors were on the streets holding demos over the cost of living.
