Residents in Kisumu are currently holding demonstrations in protest over the high cost of living.
The residents converged in Kondele where they started matching towards the county commissioner's office.
While honouring Azimio leader Raila Odinga's call to hold protests, the locals turned up in large numbers as they chanted anti-President William Ruto slogans.
They are currently within the City Square.
Business in various parts of the county has however not been disrupted.
The residents passed the police roadblock and headed towards the State Lodge.
They said that they will not be stopped from using a public road which had been blocked by police officers.
The demos were led by led by Kisumu deputy governor Mathew's Owili, Kisumu County Assembly speaker Elisha Oraro and other leaders including Market Milimani ward MCA Seth Kanga, Kajulu MCA Ben Adega and Kondele MCA Joachim Oketch.
DG Owili said as the people of Kisumu, they will stand with Raila, saying they will not recognise the Ruto Presidency.
Speaker Oraro handed over Memorandum to the Kisumu Central ACC Hussein Alaso Hussein.
He said they will continue with the demos daily until March 19 ahead of the March 20 mega rally which they will all attend in Nairobi.
The ACC, however, confirmed receiving the Memorandum and urged locals to maintain peace even as they hold their demonstrations.
