In Summary

  • Jubilee elders should accept defeat so they can hear the true voice of God. After all, there is life after losing an election.
  • In every political contest, a winner must emerge and the loser must accept the verdict of the people.
Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi and Deputy Governor Ahmed Muhumed Abdi at the Milimani law courts when their election was upheld by the High Court.

The High Court in Nairobi has affirmed Ahmed Abdullahi as the duly elected governor of Wajir county.

In ecstatic response, residents have reacted to the court decision that dismissed the appeal by Dr Hassan Mohamed Adam, aka Fuje.

An overwhelming number of Wajir residents believe Hassan must now accept defeat.

The exhilarated residents declared that now that the grievance procedure allowed by the Constitution and the law has been adjudged, it is time to praise God and move on.

Many of Governor Abdullahi's supporters sympathise and commiserate with Jubilee supporters and well-wishers; they admit that they valued their involvement in this petition for service, as well as the collective interest of their supporters, but they lost the battle.

For the record, Wajir voters were good students of Octavia Butler who once opined;

"Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought. To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that the coward fears. To be led by a fool is to be led by the opportunists who control the fool. To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen. To be led by a liar is to be asked to lie. To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself and those you love into slavery."

The eminent and adorable men of Jubilee fell into a trap of some evil incarnation and God didn't will. The verdict should not diminish the Jubilee team's respect and reverence for the Judiciary and the justices of the court.

The decision implies that the petitioner's failure to join and respect the larger Wajir hardships is more fatal than any perceived constitutional dissatisfaction about the petition outcome.

To that end, the decision will be remembered as one of the most significant litmus tests of our faith and democracy, which should be guided by the rule of law and our level of spirituality.

Even though the verdict could be heartbreaking and discouraging, the Fuje team should continue to pursue what will make life easier for the people of Wajir whom they might go back to in future for the elusive political support.

The residents, therefore, politely appeal to the Jubilee gubernatorial candidate and his bereaved supporters to accept defeat sincerely.

Following the election case closely, the petition revealed that the people overwhelmingly voted for ODM candidates Ahmed Abdullahi Jiir and his deputy Muhumud Abdi, aka Aato.

Anyone, including politicians, cannot claim to be more popular than the general public. The power of the people is far more potent and powerful than the delusion of grandeur or subjective disgruntlement of individuals because it is always massive when the people decide by mutual consent that they want someone.

God's voice is the voice of the people. Even though no opening of servers was involved, Jiir-Atto received irrefutable massive grassroots support.

And since the people spoke during the election, the disgruntled Jubilee team must accept defeat humbly. The people voted for a team they can trust and relate to, and the emerging ODM governorship candidate deserved the mandate.

The result of the August 9, 2022, general election demonstrated that the masses have rejected politicians who exist only on the pages of newspapers, television and social media, and whose manifestos are based solely on fortune and inconsistency.

Ahmed Jiir's rise and victory over a slew of candidates is a true reflection of the people's will, wishes, and desires, based on the maxim better the devil you know than the angels you've never met.

We don't deny that other candidates have good personalities, but in terms of street credibility, track records of experience, competence, diligence, respect for all, and impeccable political texture, Ahmed Jiir and Atto had more luck, were more popular, and were more acceptable to the people.

The majority of Wajir residents have advised Dr Hassan and the Jubilee team not to consider wasting its time and resources to appeal against the High Court judgment, which upheld the reelection of Governor Jiir.

Logically In a court of law, if you don’t have any substance, there is no need to fight.

Finally, Wajir residents once again want to appeal to Jubilee supporters to respect the people's decision, as demonstrated by their massive votes, which have been confirmed and upheld by the courts, rather than whip up baseless sentiments that people will not even listen to.

The people decided ODM and Jiir-Atto leadership and that is the direction for the next five years.

They should therefore respect the wishes of the people and wait for their time and stop false hope alarms invented by nugatory hanging around busybodies and political dealers whose only desire is to see the aggrieved Jubilee governor team dig themselves into a bottomless pit and engage in perfunctory financial exploitation and run down.

The incisive whispering of deceptive and prodigal political vendors is bound and real. No one should mistake the voice of the devil for God. The Almighty God has spoken resoundingly in favour of Governor Ahmed, and the Sensible.

Jubilee elders should accept defeat so they can hear the true voice of God. After all, there is life after losing an election. In every political contest, a winner must emerge and the loser must accept the verdict of the people.

The time has come for us to come together and move our dear county forward. The development completion of the county is a Wajir agenda and we must all be invested in its execution under the administration in the office.
