Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has hit out at Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over his remarks that the government was going to first reward its supporters with development.

In a statement on Tuesday, Kipkorir pointed out that Gachagua was required by the law to serve all Kenyans without discrimination.

"When will our DP Rigathi Gachagua realize his Oath of Office demands he serves all without discrimination?" He posed.

He added that the utterances, which went against Chapter 6 of the Constitution, could attract criminal accusations.

"Chapter 6 of the Constitution, Leadership & Integrity Act & Public Officer Ethics Act enjoins all Public Officers including President, DP, Ministers etc to serve all without discrimination on Gender, Religion, Tribe or Politics. Pronouncements in breach of the law is Indictable."

His remarks come after the DP likened the government to a company, where the majority shareholders reap big.

Speaking on Sunday in Kericho, Gachagua said his role at State House is to ensure regions that backed them get development before those that did not.

He added that it was laughable that some members of the opposition had started trooping to the State House seeking government positions.

"This government is a shares company. It has the owners who have majority shares, those with minority shares and those that don't have any shares," Gachagua said.

"You invested in this company owned by William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua you must harvest. You invested and your time to harvest is now... Even they (the opposition) will harvest, but they have to wait for you to finish harvesting."
