Sources told the Star, the CSs wanted their visit kept under to avoid what they termed as "victimisation".

His lawyers Sam Nyaberi and Danstan Omari confirmed that the CS is in safe hands even as he divulged that they are ready to defend him in court.

"We have left him in the safe hands of advocates, Members of Parliament, and his former colleagues in the Cabinet," his lawyer Sam Nyaberi said.

Omari also confirmed the same revealing that the senior officers in the previous regime are also in attendance.

"We can tell you that here at (Matiang'i's home) he has been joined by former Cabinet ministers, and he has been joined by Raila. Some of the former president Uhuru's senior officers are also here," Omari said.

ODM leader Raila Odinga had earlier said he will not leave the former CS' home until the matter is solved.

"I am not leaving Dr Matiangi's home tonight until this matter is resolved. He can count on our support and solidarity as Azimio," Raila tweeted after the incident.

He went on to add:

"Matiang’i is a former Interior CS and civility demands that the illegitimate regime in place accords him due process and his rights. We will not allow the dark days of repression to return. We shall stand with him to the end."
