Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday held a consultative meeting with Permanent Secretaries from different ministries.
The meeting was held to discuss the Government's programme of subsidised fertilizer.
"This is as the short rains are expected in about 12 key food producing counties around the country," Gachagua said.
The DP said the meeting was also aimed at the realisation of the government's commitment to sustainable affordable food through lowering the cost of production.
" We are creating a seamless and cost-effective distribution chain to ensure the farmer gets cheap fertiliser as directed by President William Ruto," Gachagua said.
Also present in the meeting were Council of Governors Chief Executive Officer Mary Mwiti and National Cereals and Produce Board Managing Director Joseph Kimote.
