Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua is on an official visit to the USA where he has been visiting Kenya's foreign missions.
Appreciating the huge contribution they make to the economy through their remittances, Mutua assured them that Ruto's government will enact changes which will impact them positively.
Among the changes will be a diaspora M-Pesa service and a banking and loan system for Kenyans to save at home.
"That will encourage Kenyans and foreigners to invest in Kenya so that they can take advantage of the Public Private Partnership programme and low-cost housing ventures and other projects in Kenya," he said
He also said there are plans to open more consulates in the USA.
One will be for the Midwest either in Chicago or Minneapolis, another one for the South either in Dallas or Atlanta and one in the Northwest in Seattle.
Mutua said more mobile bio-metric kits to process passports, Huduma numbers and Identity cards in the States will be made available for USA.
As for the Kenyans living out of status, Mutua said the government will be requesting the US government to give amnesty to them so that their stay there can be legalised.
The CS met embassy staff where they discussed the expectations of Ruto administration.
They also discussed how to grow trade, get scholarships and explore more job opportunities for Kenyans.
"We discussed how to improve services to Kenyans, and serve them efficiently, especially in processing their documents among other issues," he said.
