UDA presidential candidate William Ruto has polled the highest in the Marakwet West Constituency, in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Ruto led with 44,439 votes against his Azimio counterpart Raila Odinga who got 1,290 votes.

Roots party leader George Wajackoyah managed 47 votes while David Mwaure of Agano got 31 votes.

There were 58,568 registered voters in the constituency and 45,807 people cast their votes.

The number of rejected votes was 202.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission must verify ballot papers from 290 constituencies and diaspora results before announcing the presidential winner.
