Deputy President William Ruto has cancelled all Kenya Kwanza Alliance rallies for the next three days.
The suspension follows the death of former President Mwai Kibaki.
Ruto's Digital Secretary Dennis Itumbi took to his social media handles to announce the development
The Alliance had planned a four-day campaign tour in Vihiga County, covering Bungoma, Busia and Kakamega until Sunday, April 24.
Earlier, the DP said the late Kibaki was a great inspiration to Kenya Kwanza Alliance as they look forward to changing the economic fortunes of the country.
Kibaki's presidency was pegged on reviving the country's economy after years of stagnation.
In his time, Kibaki expanded Kenya's revenue base and collection, and he worked to feed off the country's debt.
Ruto, while speaking during a Kakamega County Economic Forum held at Musingu High School, on Friday said Kibaki's death is a big loss to Kenya.
The Alliance was expected to have a rally in Butula, Luanda and Eshisiru on Friday.
Further, they would have held the Bungoma Economic Forum in Webuye town on Saturday.
On Sunday, the Ruto led Alliance was to lead the Busia Economic Forum.
“We would have then held a Bottom-Up Economic Plan promotion in Kabuchai and Malava,” Director of Communication, DP office, Emmanuel Talam said.
