Young people surf on their phones

All over the world, internet use is still rife and despite the many advantages that come with its use, there is still some disadvantage about  it.

It promotes laziness. It's unfortunate how the youths are no longer vigorous in the field and most of their time is spent on their phones and computers.

Social media also consumes a lot of time as the content contained on some of the sites can be so captivating and it shifts the attention of young men.

Overdependence on online business among youths is another challenge where many people don’t commit to fieldwork .

They only want to work from the comfort of their beds and do not want to get their hands dirty.

Some of these online businesses lack credibility since some of them don't exist and some are meant to attract youths who are desperate just for some little money.

Gambling is another thing that has been pervasive and now becoming an addiction.

Young people even spend money meant for school fees on betting. This is unfortunate.

Scholars in the university are required to do thorough research, especially when tackling their projects, not depending on the internet which is a shortcut.

Most of them do not want to depend on their libraries, this type of laziness is alarming.

Through their copy and pasting, they encourage plagiarism.

As much as the internet and technology are here with us, let us strive and balance our use of the internet and time spent.

Young people reduce the overdependence on the internet for job opportunities and let’s be found in the field to exploit all the available resources.

Scholars should move out of their comfort zone and make use of the publications in the libraries for there are not there for aesthetic purposes.

Let’s encourage our young people to use their free time by reading,  engaging in meaningful activities and just some little time on social media.
