The Democratic Republic of Congo aims to partner with other nations to train experts capable of advancing the country’s development, Higher Education Minister Marie-Thérèse Sombo Ayanne Safi Mukuna told Sputnik Africa on the sidelines of the Education Ministers’ Forum in Kazan, Russia.

Minister Mukuna outlined the DRC’s key challenges

Modernizing higher education through digital tools;

Developing in-country mineral processing capabilities with partner nations;

Expanding agricultural development;

Training more engineers in construction, water management, electricity, and electronics.

Regarding education, she emphasized the critical need to collaborate with Russia "to help revitalize our teaching staff, increase their numbers, and share expertise – particularly technology that will enhance the quality of education."

"With these improvements, we can boost our development," she concluded.
