Ethiopia is advancing climate resilience and sustainable development through renewable energy, water conservation, and green infrastructure, Ethiopian Minister of Planning and Development Fitsum Assefa Adela said.

Almost 100% of Ethiopia's electricity is generated from renewable sources, primarily hydroelectric power, Ethiopian Minister of Planning and Development Fitsum Assefa Adela said.

She highlighted government projects for universal electrification, especially in rural areas, using solar, wind, and solar-powered irrigation, as well as progress in water conservation, including projects protecting major river basins like the Nile.

Ethiopia is also developing carbon trading frameworks and leveraging its Green Legacy Initiative to access global markets.
