Nollywood veteran actor, Amaechi Muonagor is dead.

His cousin Tony Muonagor also known as Tony Oneweek confirmed his death to BBC News Pidgin.

Muonagor died at the age of 62 after a battle with kidney-related issues, diabetes and stroke.

In 2023, he suffered a stroke that led to partial paralysis of his left leg.

The veteran actor's death come just days after he pleaded for financial assistance on social media to enable him to pay for a kidney transplant.

One of the videos that went viral on social media earlier this month shows Muonagor on top of his bed with a bandage on his chest.

The news of his death comes as Nigerians still mourn the death of Nollywood star John Okafor alias Mr Ibu who also sought medical aid before his death.

The Nollywood comedy legend made appearances in many Nigerian movies including Aki and Paw Paw, where he played the famous role of the father of two mischief-making, over-exuberant teenagers.

Many of his fans have mourned his death on social media.
