A two-term senator from a popular alliance was the subject of a discussion during a health break in the ongoing induction retreat. The senator, we are told, had caused a scene that nearly degenerated into a fistfight after a recent PG meet where he was not considered for any leadership position. Corridors is informed that the talkative man became angry at the party leader and some of his colleagues for failing to reward him yet he brought more votes to the party’s basket than anyone else. Before the PG, the man is said to have bragged that he was close to the boss and he would automatically get a powerful position.

It is said power is transient and one can only know its true meaning once they leave office. This is the bitter pill that a senior state officer has been forced to swallow as he begins his private life. Our bird confides in us that the vocal and authoritative man is trying hard to cope with this reality in the village where he has retreated to after his game plan miscarried. He has been forced to hire bouncers and guards from local security firms to replace the uniformed officers at his city residence and properties. The man has kept off the limelight.

Still on the induction retreat. That the recent statement by the head of state that some legislators have never uttered a word in Parliament was targeted and mocking is no secret. Some of the lawmakers from his backyard known for their shyness are now promising to be ‘brutal’ and cause wonders when the House resumes its sittings. One of them was even heard whispering that he wants to be vocal and eloquent so that he can be recognised and make headlines. He has even vowed to start rehearsing his maiden speech.
