Ethiopian Airlines suspends flights to 30 countries over Covid-19

Ethiopian Airlines on Friday announced it had suspended flights to 30 countries over the coronavirus.

There are a total of nine confirmed cases of covid-19 in Ethiopia.

The airline had initially said it would retain flights to the China route when the outbreak first started, but had to change tack.

On March 11, football's world governing body Fifa postponed its Congress in Ethiopia, scheduled to take place in June, by three months owing to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

The Congress has been set to take place in the capital Addis Ababa with events between 3-5 June, the day on which the Congress had been set to take place.

This has now been postponed until September 18.
