The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced a 20-hour scheduled maintenance of its Electronic Tax Invoice Management System (eTIMS) and Tax Invoice Management System (TIMS), temporarily interrupting access to the platforms for taxpayers and businesses.
According to a public notice issued by the authority, the maintenance will begin at 6 pm on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, and end at 2 pm on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
KRA said the exercise will affect all users of the two systems, which will be unavailable throughout the maintenance period.
In the notice, the authority advised taxpayers and other stakeholders to plan their activities accordingly to minimise disruption.
"Please be advised that there will be a scheduled maintenance of eTIMS & TIMS from Wednesday 22nd July, 2026, 6 PM to Thursday 23rd July, 2026, 2 PM. We regret any inconvenience caused," KRA said.
The authority said the affected systems are eTIMS and TIMS and that the maintenance is expected to last 20 hours.
During the outage, users will not be able to access the platforms until the maintenance exercise is completed.
eTIMS is KRA's electronic tax invoicing platform that enables taxpayers to generate and transmit electronic tax invoices in compliance with tax requirements, while TIMS supports electronic invoicing through approved tax invoice devices.
The systems are used by businesses required to issue electronic tax invoices and play a key role in the authority's digital tax administration.
KRA did not disclose the nature of the maintenance but apologised for the temporary disruption to services.
The authority urged all affected stakeholders to take note of the scheduled downtime as services are expected to resume from 2 pm on Thursday.
