Detectives are investigating the death of a middle age man who died after falling from the fourth floor of a building along Ngong Road in Nairobi.
The incident was reported on Friday afternoon by a supervisor, who informed police that a man had fallen from the fourth-floor parking area to the ground floor at around 11.35 am.
Police said the victim sustained a fracture to his right arm, while blood was seen oozing from his mouth. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Crime scene investigators processed the area before the body was moved to the Nairobi City Mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
Detectives have launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal fall.
Elsewhere, police in Nyakach Subcounty, Kisumu county, arrested a man following the death of his cousin after a domestic dispute escalated into violence.
The incident was reported on Friday night, although it occurred on the evening of July 16.
According to police, Lawrence Onyango became involved in a domestic dispute with his wife at their home. As relatives intervened to separate the couple, his cousin allegedly struck him on the head with a stick.
Onyango sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to Nyabondo Mission Hospital, where he received treatment.
However, he later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical care.
The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and is being held at Ogoro Police
Station as investigations continue.
The deceased’s body has been preserved at the mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal assault before the suspect is arraigned in court.
Meanwhile, a 10-year-old boy died after accidentally drowning in an uncovered water pond while herding cattle with his father in Rongo Subcounty, Migori county.
The incident was reported on Friday evening by a local who alerted police after the tragedy at Kodhiambo Village.
Police officers visited the scene and found the body of the
minor lying near the Dagoriedo–Rangwe Road.
A preliminary examination revealed no visible external injuries.
According to investigators, the boy was herding cattle with his father at around 4.30 pm when he accidentally slipped into the deep, uncovered pond and drowned.
Members of the public managed to retrieve the child from the water, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police processed the scene before the body was moved to Rosewood Hospital Mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
Authorities have launched an inquiry into the incident and
urged the public to take extra precautions around uncovered water bodies,
particularly where children are present.
