Interswitch East Africa has appointed Geoffrey Njuguna as the new Managing Director of Interswitch Kenya.
The move, the company says will strengthen its leadership as it expands its presence in Kenya’s fast-growing digital payments sector.
The appointment marks a key leadership milestone for the company as it seeks to accelerate innovation and deepen its footprint in one of Africa’s most dynamic digital economies.
Geoffrey takes over the role after serving as Regional Chief Financial Officer. During his tenure, he played a key role in strengthening the company’s financial stewardship, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and driving operational excellence across the business.
According to Interswitch, the appointment reflects its commitment to developing internal leadership while positioning the Kenya business for its next phase of growth.
Interswitch Group Chief Executive Officer Mitchell Elegbe said Geoffrey’s experience and understanding of the business made him the right person to lead the company’s Kenyan operations.
“Geoffrey’s deep understanding of our business, proven leadership, and unwavering commitment to our values position him exceptionally well to lead our Kenya business into its next phase of growth,” Elegbe said.
As Managing Director, Geoffrey will lead Interswitch Kenya’s strategic direction, strengthen relationships with customers and partners, accelerate innovation, and support the company’s mission of providing secure, seamless and inclusive digital payment solutions across the country.
His appointment comes as Kenya’s digital payments landscape continues to evolve rapidly, creating opportunities to expand financial inclusion, build stronger partnerships and deliver greater value to businesses and consumers.
Speaking on his appointment, Geoffrey expressed gratitude for the opportunity and outlined his vision for the company’s future in Kenya.
