The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced a temporary disruption to some online voter services as it carries out a routine upgrade of its ICT systems.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the commission said the exercise is aimed at enhancing the reliability, security and performance of its services.

The upgrade will temporarily affect public voter search services available through the IEBC's online verification portal, as well as voter transfer services and requests for changes to voter registration particulars.

The commission, however, said ongoing voter registration will continue without interruption at its 290 constituency offices, Huduma Centres and the Customer Experience Centre at Anniversary Towers in Nairobi.

"The Commission wishes to inform stakeholders and members of the public that we are currently undertaking a routine upgrade of our ICT systems to enhance reliability, security and performance of our services," the statement said.

The commission added that it will notify the public once the upgrade has been completed.

"The Commission will communicate once the exercise is complete. We thank you for your understanding," the statement said.
