The Linda Mwananchi faction is set to take its nationwide public engagement tour to Kisii and Nyamira counties on Friday, July 3, with leaders expected to address residents at four major stopovers across the region.

According to the program, the tour will begin at 10 am with a public meeting at Monarch, Mosocho, before proceeding to a mega rally in Kisii Town at 1 pm.

The team will then head to Keumbu for a meeting scheduled at 3 pm, before concluding the day's activities with a rally in Keroka  at 4 p.m.

The tour is part of the broader Linda Mwananchi initiative, which has seen opposition leaders traverse different parts of the country in a campaign they say is aimed at engaging citizens on governance, the cost of living, economic challenges and the protection of constitutional rights.

"The Linda Mwananchi tour will make stops in Monarch Mosocho, Mega Rally Kisii Town, Keumbu Stop and Keroka, giving residents in both Kisii and Nyamira an opportunity to engage with opposition leaders," read part of the programme.

The latest stop comes as political activity across the country continues to intensify, with parties and coalitions increasingly engaging supporters ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Kisii and Nyamira visit is expected to attract large crowds, given the region's significance in Kenya's political landscape and its history of active participation in national political debates.

Although the organisers have not released the full list of leaders expected to attend, the Linda Mwananchi tour has previously featured prominent opposition figures addressing issues ranging from economic reforms and governance to youth unemployment and public accountability.

Political analysts say such grassroots engagements are likely to shape political narratives ahead of the 2027 General Election as parties seek to consolidate support in key voting blocs across the country.
