
Three suspects have been arrested, and bhang worth an estimated Sh1.2 million seized in a multi-agency security operation conducted in Rachuonyo North Sub-County, Homa Bay County.
The operation, carried out by a team comprising police officers from Kendu Bay Police Station and National Government Administrative Officers (NGAO), including the Area Chief of Rambira Location and the Assistant Chief of Kamser Seka Sub-Location, targeted suspected drug trafficking activities in the area.
During the raid, security officers recovered 636 rolls of cannabis sativa that had been packed into two green sacks and one white carrier bag.
The suspects were arrested at the scene and escorted to Kendu Bay Police Station, where they are being held in custody pending processing and arraignment in court. The recovered narcotics were also taken to the station and secured as exhibits.
The National Police Service praised the collaboration between police officers, local administrators, and members of the public, saying the joint effort was key to the success of the operation.
“The National Police Service commends the seamless collaboration between station officers, local administrators, and residents. This operation underscores our unwavering commitment to eradicating drug trafficking and protecting our communities from illicit substances," NPS said in a statement.

The suspects are expected to be arraigned in court once processing is complete, as investigations continue.
