In Kenya, supporters are closely following the tournament and backing teams they believe possess quality, experience and determination to lift football's biggest prize.
From Nairobi and Eastleigh to Mombasa, Narok, Kitui, and Mandera, football enthusiasts shared their predictions on who they believe will be crowned world champions.
For Maqdis Garhaye, Spain is the team to win the World Cup.
"I support Spain to win because I have been learning their language for a while and I love their style of play. I love the people and the whole country. I also love Lamine Yamal, one of the young players that I like," she said.
In Nairobi's Westlands area, Kepha Anyumba is placing his faith in Brazil.
"I've been supporting Brazil ever since. I support them because of their style of play, their flair and samba football. I think they have a good chance of winning this World Cup, although they will have to fight with teams like England," he said.
Kepha's favourite player is Brazilian youngster Estevão Willian.
"Unfortunately, he is currently out due to injury and was not called up, but we hope to see him in the next World Cup," he added.
France emerged as another popular choice among Kenyan fans.
Aziza Abdishakur believes the European giants have all the ingredients needed for success.
"France to win because I love that team. It has quality players, and I like how they play. Why shouldn't they win?" she said.
Daud Ahmed is equally confident.
"France till the last minute. No negotiation. France to win because they often have a deep squad filled with talented players, strong tactical organization, and experience in major international competitions. Their combination of technical quality, pace, and depth allows them to adapt to different opponents, which is why they are always among the favourites," he said.
Defending champions Argentina also have their supporters.
Abiba Aden believes the South Americans have what it takes to retain their title.
"Argentina to win. They have the capability of winning the World Cup because of the experience they gained from winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup and other recent titles," she said.
Meanwhile, Zeituna Ali from Mombasa is backing Croatia.
"Croatia to win it," she said confidently.
From Mandera, Batula Yunis Mohamed predicts Spain will go all the way.
"If I had to make one prediction for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, I would pick Spain. They have a young, talented squad with players like Lamine Yamal, strong midfield control, and excellent recent performances. Based on current form and squad depth, Spain would be my pick to lift the trophy, although France and Argentina remain strong challengers," she said.
In Narok, Kerempe Felix is supporting Portugal.
"Portugal is my favourite team because it has some of the best players in the world, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes. Their talent, determination, and winning spirit make Portugal a team worth supporting," he said.
In Eastleigh, Nurki Ali has no doubts about Brazil's chances.
"Brazil lazima itashinda," he said.
Daniel Chege, a Liverpool supporter, is backing the Netherlands.
"Mimi kama shabiki wa Liverpool niko nyuma ya Netherlands," he said.
For Vincent Kilonzo from Kitui, Brazil's football history gives them an edge over the competition.
"I support Brazil. Following their history in football and recent matches, they will take it. They have trained enough for the tournament," he said.
The responses highlight the diversity of football loyalties among Kenyan fans. While Spain, Brazil, France, and Argentina attracted the most support, Portugal, Croatia, and the Netherlands also found passionate backers.
As the World Cup continues and the drama unfolds on the pitch, only time will tell whose prediction proves correct. For now, Kenyan fans remain united by their love for football, eagerly watching as the world's best teams battle for the ultimate prize in the sport.
