[PHOTOS] Ruto received in Helsinki by Finnish President for 2-day state visit

President William Ruto and First Lady Mama Rachel were on Wednesday officially received at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki, Finland for a two-day State visit.

President Alexander Stubb and First Lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb received Ruto and Mama Rachel at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki.

Kenya and Finland are seeking to deepen economic ties, strengthen partnerships in technology, digitisation, clean energy, innovation and education, and advance new opportunities for investment, job creation and shared prosperity.

Kenya is expected to use the visit to position itself as a strategic gateway for Nordic investment into East Africa, particularly in technology, green energy, education, and innovation sectors.

Ruto travelled to Helsinki after a series of high-level meetings in Oslo, Norway, where he urged Norwegian businesses to expand investments in Kenya and use the country as a gateway to the wider African market.
