President William Ruto on Monday held talks with Henna Virkkunen, the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of Technology and Digital Connectivity, as Kenya seeks to deepen cooperation with the European Union in the digital sector.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in technology, innovation, digital infrastructure and connectivity, areas that Kenya has identified as critical to its economic transformation agenda.
Ruto's engagement with the European Commission official comes as the government continues to push for greater investment in digital infrastructure, expansion of internet access, and adoption of emerging technologies to drive economic growth and create opportunities for young people.
