Speaking during the launch of the book The Unseen Scars by Dickson Muli at All Saints' Cathedral, Nairobi, Kalonzo stated that the current national outcry is a direct mental health crisis fueled by a failed administration.
"This regime is breaking our young people, and we are watching it happen in real-time," Kalonzo lamented, pointing to rising suicide rates, weekly femicide headlines, and widespread substance abuse born out of desperation.
"When you ask your government for accountability, they send police and live bullets in return. Tumechoka (we are tired). It is not just a political statement; it is a mental health report."
The former Vice President drew a sharp contrast between genuine resilience and recent corruption scandals, referencing an Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) raid in Syokimau where Sh65 million in cash was found under a "God Did It" plaque. Kalonzo termed it deeply offensive to invoke God's name to launder proceeds stolen from starving Kenyans.
Sharing his own personal journey of weathering public political losses and carrying his own "unseen scars" from the 2007 and 2022 electoral seasons, Kalonzo urged the youth to reject the toxic culture of masking their pain. He challenged the congregation to live by a covenant of "Comrade For Comrade" to ensure no one suffers in isolation.
Antony Mutua displays a copy of The Unseen Scars authored by Dickson Muli during the launch at All Saints Cathedral/HANDOUTAntony Mutua emerged as one of the key personalities who championed the highly successful launch of The Unseen Scars, a deeply transformative book authored by Dickson Muli.
Taking the stage at the star-studded event, Mutua warmly praised the author’s profound psychological and social insights, noting that the literature addresses a critical narrative long ignored by modern leadership.
Speaking passionately to the congregation, Mutua stated, "This masterpiece successfully unveils hidden, internal truths that will fundamentally challenge our societal perspectives and inspire future generations to courageously look far beyond the ordinary."
Kalonzo called for a true Komboa Kenya movement one that goes beyond political liberation from an elite class treating public office as personal property, to a structural revolution that prioritises mental health, youth investment, and national healing over teargas and impunity.
