Suspect surrenders to police in Isiolo after killing man in love triangle dispute

He was detained pending grilling and possible arraignment.

A suspect surrendered to police after allegedly stabbing and killing a man during an altercation in a village in Merti, Isiolo County, police said.

Police said Osman Hussein succumbed to injuries after being stabbed in the shoulder on the morning of May 24 in a feud. He and the suspect had allegedly fought over a woman, police said.

He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead while being attended to.

According to police, after news of the death spread, the suspect surrendered to the local authorities. He was detained pending grilling and possible arraignment for murder.

In another incident, a seven-year-old boy was killed in a suspected murder in Masue sub-location, Makueni County, before an angry mob lynched the suspect later.

Police said the suspect was a close relative of the child.

According to police, the incident was reported at Emali police station, and the boy’s body was found lying dead with deep cuts on the head, neck, right shoulder and lower back.

The suspect was identified as a 32-year-old man said to be a close relative of the victim. Police said the suspect was attacked by an angry mob about 500 metres from the scene as he allegedly attempted to flee.

He succumbed to injuries inflicted during the mob attack.

Detectives processed both scenes before the two bodies were moved to Kilome Mortuary pending autopsies.

Police said investigations are ongoing and the motive behind the killing remains unknown.

And police in Nyeri County have launched investigations after the body of an unidentified man was discovered dumped near Wambugu Farm in Nyeri Central Sub-County.

Police established that the deceased was a man believed to be about 35 years old. Investigators suspect the body may have been moved from another location and dumped at the scene.

Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) personnel from Nyeri processed and documented the area before the body was removed to Nyeri PGH Hospital mortuary pending identification and an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Elsewhere, police in Ugenya Sub-County, Siaya County, confirmed the identity of a man whose body was recovered in a drowning incident earlier reported at Sega Police Station.

Relatives positively identified the deceased as George Omondi Juma, a 44-year-old Luo man who had reportedly been missing since May 19, 2026.

The body had initially been recorded as that of an unknown African male adult following the drowning incident first reported on March 24, 2026.

Police said investigations into the circumstances surrounding the drowning are ongoing.
