Marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge is in Italy for the 2026 Milan Winter Games, which he will feature as a flag-bearer in his first-ever Winter Olympics appearance.

The two-time Olympic marathon champion, known for his discipline and endurance, posted photos training in Milan ahead of his ceremonial duties for the Games.

“Ciao Milan. It’s great to be here at my first-ever Olympic Winter Games. What shouldn’t I miss in the upcoming days?” Kipchoge shared, expressing excitement for the experience.

Widely regarded as the greatest marathon runner of all time, Kipchoge has a decorated career that includes Olympic gold medals in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.

He also set a former world record in the marathon with a time of 2:01:39 in Berlin 2018, and becoming the first human to break the two-hour marathon barrier in Vienna in a 2019 special event dubbed INEOS 1:59 Challenge.

Kipchoge trains with incredible precision, running nearly 200 kilometers a week and often waking at 5 am to hit the streets or track.

Although he will not be participating in the Milan run, he remains faithful to his rigorous training schedule, demonstrating his strict adherence to routine exercise and mental fitness underpinned by his “no human is limited" mantra.Eliud Kipchoge trains in Milan ahead of the Winter Olympics Games. /ELIUD KIPCHOGE
