The woman was identified as Esther
Wairimu, police said.
Her body was found lying in bed and in
a pool of blood long after the killing.
Police said the woman had injuries in
the left hand and back. Her husband is missing after the murder on December 15,
2025 evening.
The motive of the murder is yet to be known, police said on Tuesday after moving the body to the mortuary pending postmortem.
Elsewhere at the junction of the Oloitoktok-Olenguruone roads, in Kileleshwa,
Nairobi a suspected thief was lynched by a mob in a dramatic chase.
The incident happened on Monday
afternoon after the suspect was accused of snatching a mobile phone from a
female pedestrian in the area.
The rider and a pillion passenger were
on a motorcycle when the incident happened. Other riders joined the chase and
caught up with the rider who they stoned to death.
The body was moved to the mortuary
pending identification and other procedures.
Police said the motorcycle was stolen
at the scene by unknown people while the pillion passenger managed to escape on
foot.
Detectives are investigating an
incident where the body of a man was found in a pit latrine after a murder
incident in Kinungi area, Naivasha, Nakuru County.
The body of Samuel Njoroge Meja, 40
was found in the uncovered latrine long after the murder had happened on Monday
December 15, 2025.
The fire brigade from Naivasha arrived
at the scene and helped to retrieve the body. Police said the body had visible
injuries in the head, face and neck.
Police said they are investigating
murder in the incident. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy
and other procedures.
The motive of the murder is yet to be
established, police said on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, in Khachonge, Bungoma
County, a group of private security guards was seriously injured in a robbery
at a coffee store.
A gang raided the Khachonge Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative Society while armed with crude weapons.
They cut a barbed
wire forming part of a fence around the facility to access it before they beat
up three guards who were on duty and tied them in a room.
Police said the gang broke a store and
stole 16 bags of dry coffee weighing 50 kilos valued at about Sh1 million
before escaping.
The guards were rushed to hospital and
admitted in stable condition.
Police said they are investigating the incident. Such attacks and robberies of coffee products have been rampant in the area.
Detectives have arrested some of the suspects behind the trend and recovered the stolen products.
