President William Ruto has arrived at Nyayo National Stadium for the Jamhuri Day Celebrations.
First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto arrived shortly before President Ruto.
Dressed in a black suit, Ruto stepped out of the presidential motorcade, which had snaked from State House to Nyayo in about 15 minutes.
He was received by Chief of Defence Forces General Charles Kahariri.
Immediately after his arrival, Ruto boarded the Ceremonial car for a lap of honour around the stadium.
Rachel Ruto also stepped in, in style, donning an Ankara dress and escorted by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.
Shortly before the president's arrival, was his deputy, Kithure Kindiki who was accompanied by his wife.
With Kindiki was Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
The event's guest of honour, Ghanaian President John Mahama, arrived shortly before Ruto and after the two leaders.
He was received by Kindiki and Mudavadi.

President Ruto also inspected the guard of honour immediately after his arrival.
The President honoured the military in a coordinated procession, taking the salute as he inspected the troops.
Following the inspection, Ruto proceeded to greet dignitaries, including members of the executive and legislative arms of government, as well as foreign guests in attendance.
As is customary, the President was entertained by the National Guard.
They were performing a traditional military band display, featuring drumming and trumpet playing, often accompanied by marching and precision movements.
This type of performance is a classic example of military pageantry, showcasing the guards' musical talents and adding to the ceremonial atmosphere of the event.
The events marked the beginning of Jamhuri Day celebrations.
