The recognition cemented Sirwo’s place among the country’s leading producers in the fast-growing avocado industry.
The award was presented during the KAEA 2025 Gala Dinner held at the Argyle Grand Hotel in Nairobi, where top players in the avocado value chain gathered to celebrate innovation, quality and excellence.
Businessman Kiprono Kittony, the driving force behind Sirwo Farm, said the recognition reflects the farm’s commitment to high standards and continuous improvement.
“We hope to expand the orchard and make it a demonstration centre for others who want to venture into avocado farming and value addition,” he said.
Kittony noted that Sirwo Farm began its avocado venture in 2022 and has already made remarkable progress, earning a place among Kenya’s top performers in just a few years.
He added that the award affirms their efforts to boost avocado farming in the country and contribute to a sector with immense economic potential.
The KAEA awards ceremony brought together growers, exporters, researchers, policymakers and agribusiness leaders for a Networking Gala Dinner aimed at encouraging competitiveness and growth within the avocado sector.
The awards recognise individuals and organisations whose contributions have transformed the industry through excellence in areas such as marketing, research and development, innovation, production and value addition.
According to the organisers, the awards aim to inspire exceptional performance across the value chain by celebrating players who set new benchmarks in efficiency, quality and sustainability.
KAEA is a strategic initiative of the Avocado Society of Kenya, supported by several anchor stakeholders, and has grown steadily since its inaugural event in 2019.
Now in its sixth edition, the 2025 awards continue to champion best practices and highlight the players shaping the future of Kenya’s avocado industry.
The programme targets both individuals and organisations across the value chain—growers, aggregators, processors, exporters and service providers—who are committed to strengthening and expanding the country’s footprint in the global avocado market.
Sirwo Farm’s rise to prominence is rooted in its strong investment in modern and sustainable horticulture.
Located in the fertile highlands of the North Rift, the farm benefits from rich volcanic soils and favourable climatic conditions ideal for avocado cultivation.
It has embraced advanced crop management practices, including controlled irrigation, soil nutrition monitoring, integrated pest management and structured pruning.
These measures have enabled the farm to produce consistently high-quality fruit that meets both local and export market requirements.
Sirwo Farm has grown into a reliable supplier for supermarkets, processors and export companies targeting high-value markets in Europe and the Middle East.
With the latest KAEA recognition, Sirwo Farm aims to scale its operations further and contribute to transforming avocado production in the North Rift and beyond.
