The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has expressed deep sorrow following the sudden passing of Joseph Hamisi Denar, a Nominated Member of Parliament.
In a statement released on Saturday, the party described the news as received “with utter shock.”
Hassan Omar Hassan, MP at the East African Legislative Assembly and Secretary General of UDA, conveyed the party’s condolences to Denar’s family, colleagues, and friends.
“It is with a heavy heart and deep sorrow that on behalf of the UDA Party, I convey our heartfelt condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of our departed Nominated Member of Parliament Hon. Joseph Hamisi Denar,” he said.
Denar served as a nominated MP under the Kenya Kwanza Coalition. Until his untimely death, he was a member of the Departmental Committee on Sports and Culture and the Select Committee on National Cohesion and Equal Opportunities at the National Assembly.
The party noted that he was widely respected for his principled approach, diligence, and straightforward delivery of his mandate.
During this period of mourning, the UDA expressed solidarity with the family and the residents of Kinango Constituency in Kwale County, where Denar hailed from.
Hassan urged Kenyans to remember his contributions to parliamentary work and national cohesion. “During this difficult time, my thoughts are with the family and the residents of Kinango Constituency, Kwale County, where he hailed from,” he said.
The UDA also offered prayers for strength and comfort for those grieving the loss. “We pray that God grants them the strength and grace to bear the enormous loss. To the family, poleni sana,” Hassan concluded.
