President William Ruto hosted newly elected Mbeere North MP Leo Wamuthende at State House, Nairobi.

At the same time, friends and family of the late Beryl Lilian Achieng Odinga gathered for a memorial service celebrating her life and legacy.

Later in the week, President Ruto travelled to the United States at the invitation of President Donald Trump for a significant diplomatic engagement involving the Great Lakes region.

Ruto in US 

President William Ruto arrives in Washington D.C. US / PCS 


President William Ruto landed in Washington, DC, USA, on Wednesday at the invitation of President Donald Trump to participate in a historic diplomatic moment for the Great Lakes region.

Ruto was received by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, among other senior government officials who are part of his delegation.

The President joined Rwandan President Paul Kagame and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) President Félix Tshisekedi on Thursday for the official signing of the DRC-Rwanda Peace Agreement.

The accord is widely regarded as the most significant breakthrough in efforts to end decades of conflict in Eastern DRC.

The high-level ceremony took place at the White House, following months of behind-the-scenes shuttle diplomacy, security consultations, and intensified regional engagement led by the US with support from key African partners, including Kenya.

Ruto meets IMF, IFC bosses

President William Ruto met with International Finance Corporation (IFC) Managing Director Mukhtar Diop on Wednesday in Washington, D.C.

The IFC is the private arm of the World Bank Group.

Ruto also held discussions with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on critical economic areas, including infrastructure development, job creation, and poverty reduction strategies.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi accompanied him.

Beryl Odinga’s memorial

Friends and family of the late Beryl Lilian Achieng Mungwari Odinga held a memorial service to honour her legacy.

The service, which was held at Consolata Shrine in Westlands from 2 pm, was attended by leaders and Kenyans.

They condoled with the family who were present at the memorial service.

Beryl will be laid to rest at Kango Ka Jaramogi in Bondo, Siaya County, on December 6, 2025.

Ruto, Oburu meet Wamuthende

President William Ruto on Tuesday hosted the newly elected Mbeere North MP Leo Wamuthende at State House, Nairobi.

Wamuthende secured 15,802  votes, edging out his nearest rival, Newton Kariuki (also known as Newton Karish), who garnered 15,308 votes.

Also present during the State House meeting were ODM party leader Oburu Odinga and Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire.

Ruto also met the newly elected Magarini MP, Harisson Kombe.
