Family and friends of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's sister, Beryl Achieng, gathered at Lee Funeral Home to receive her body.
Beryl died while receiving treatment at the hospital on November 25, aged 78.
A source said that Beryl had been sick for a long time and had been in and out of the hospital.

Beryl, who led a fairly private life, was a cherished member of one of Kenya’s most prominent political families.
She was the fourth-born in the Odinga family, after Oburu Odinga, the late Raila Odinga, the late Ngire Omuodo Agola, and Dr Akinyi Wenwa.

Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga was among the family members present.
The late Beryl Achieng was a teacher and lawyer and made history as the first black town Clerk of Mutare, Zimbabwe.
She later became Company Secretary of the Housing Corporation of Zimbabwe and Chairperson of the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company (NWSC).

After returning to Zimbabwe as a bona fide resident, Beryl rebuilt her life and career, later serving as Company Secretary of the Housing Corporation of Zimbabwe.
She also served as the Chairperson of the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company (NWSC), having been formally appointed to the board in January 2020.
Beryl was married to Otieno Ambala, who served briefly as Gem MP before he died in 1985.
