Sunview Medipro International has accelerated its nationwide deployment of high-end medical equipment under the National Equipment Service Program.
The Organisation is delivering CT scan machines to 12 additional counties, alongside 50 new laboratory units and five fully equipped operating theatres.
The new CT scan installations have been completed in Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kisii, Siaya, Migori, Nyeri, Bomet, Isiolo, Kericho, Narok and Embu, bringing the total number of Sunview-supported CT units to 29 nationwide.
According to Sunview, the expanded coverage is already transforming diagnostic access at county hospitals.
“These installations significantly boost access to fast, accurate and high-quality diagnostic imaging for thousands of patients across Kenya,” the company said.
“So far, more than 100,000 people have benefited from CT scan services supplied and supported under NESP.”
In addition to the imaging units, five counties have now received fully equipped operating theatres, with plans to install more than 400 additional theatres in the coming months.
The company has also rolled out 50 new laboratories containing more than 150 pieces of essential lab equipment.
Yussuf Daud, Senior Health Systems Advisor at Sunview, said the company’s priority is long-term system strengthening. “Our focus remains on reliability, innovation and ensuring that every facility we support is equipped to deliver world-class healthcare,” he said.
“We are proud of the impact already made, and the future holds even greater possibilities as we work toward full nationwide coverage.”
Sunview says the machines delivered are among the most advanced globally, offering faster scan times, sharper images and higher diagnostic precision, enabling clinicians to detect diseases earlier and provide timely treatment.
The National Equipment Service Program runs on a fee-for-service model, allowing counties to access modern equipment without paying upfront. Under this arrangement, accredited suppliers install, maintain and service the machines, while the Social Health Authority reimburses them based on equipment utilization.
Sunview says the model has ensured high uptime, consistent maintenance and reduced downtime for critical medical machines in county hospitals
The company’s work under NESP extends beyond imaging, covering operating theatres, modern laboratory units and mammogram equipment, supporting more than 30 counties across Levels 4, 5 and 6 hospitals.
Sunview says its efforts align with Kenya’s national priorities under Vision 2030, the Kenya Health Sector Strategic Plan, BETA, the SDGs, and the EAC Vision 2050.
The company is on track to install 32 CT scan machines by early December and 40 by the end of the year. Installations in Kwale and Vihiga counties are expected to begin next week, marking the next phase of the nationwide rollout.
