A gang of suspected robbers shot and killed two people during a robbery at a shop in the Lolgorian area of Kilgoris, Narok County.

Police said the gang, whose number was not immediately established, entered a shop at Loliondo Centre and shot Mohamed Musa, 34, and Simeon Naiswago, 40.

The incident happened on the night of Wednesday, November 19.

According to police, the gang entered Musa’s shop and demanded cash and other valuables, leading to a brief confrontation.

Naiswago had reportedly gone to the shop to buy household goods, police said.

During the confrontation, the attackers opened fire, fatally shooting Musa in the left side of his armpit at close range.

They also shot Naiswago in the stomach.

Police said the gang took an unknown amount of money from the shop before fleeing on foot.

The two victims were rushed to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.

The bodies were moved to the mortuary, where an autopsy was planned.

A crowd gathered at the scene as police conducted initial investigations.

Officers revisited the shop on Friday as part of ongoing inquiries into the killings.

Police said the area has recently experienced a rise in crime, and special squads have been deployed to pursue those believed to be behind the incidents.

Detectives said they were following leads related to the gang’s operations and the latest attack.

Meanwhile, police in Sabasaba, Murang’a County, are investigating the death of a 35-year-old woman who was found on a farm in Kahaini village on Wednesday.

The woman, identified as Loise Muthoni, was found dead several hours after the suspected killing.

The motive was not immediately known.

Police moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures. Officers said they arrested her husband for questioning.

In Rachuonyo, Homa Bay County, a man identified as William Owenga, 33, was found dead following an assault.
